Sony has expanded its range of Ultra HD LCD TV with the XE70 series. The Sony XE70 series will have a 43″, 49″, 55″ and 65″ models. The backlight LED Edge, while the native refresh rate of the panels is fixed at 50Hz thanks to Motionflow XR. It offers 4K HDR picture with high clarity thanks to 4K X-Reality PRO image processor, capable of analyzing the images by comparing them with a special database, in order to optimize contrast, colors, texture and other details.
Of course, it does not miss to HDR support. The high dynamic range is handled in accordance with the HDR10 format. In the official statement doesn’t mention about the HLG (Hybrid-Log Gamma), but this technology should be fully compatible.
The audio section on the Sony 4K TV now has two 10W speakers. There are also various proprietary technologies. ClearAudio+ optimizes the TV audio to enhance the playback of music, dialogue, and sound effects. Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) operates on the most compressed audio sources, which means catch-up TV or low-resolution Internet videos sound significantly better. Cinematic S-Force Front Surround, finally, recreates a three-dimensional surround sound effect.
The Sony XE70 series is also equipped with smart functionality, but it does not mention Android TV. Instead, there are various applications: users can access the streaming of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. The Opera web browser lets you surf the internet sites directly from your TV. Do not miss the opportunity to play media files via USB or LAN ports (including Wi-Fi). Another interesting feature is smartphone screen sharing, which allows you to play the smartphone display on televisions.
The Sony XE70 4K HDR TV Series has an elegant minimalist design with a narrow frame featuring an aluminum finish similar to its recent 2017 series. Along with the smart cable management solution that allows cables to be neatly arranged across the back of the TV and channeled into the unique stand for a tidy look. The Sony XE70 TV series will be available Europe from July 2017 with starting price of 849 Euro for 43″; 999 Euro for 49″; 1,199 Euro for 55″; and 65″ variant costs 1,999 Euros.
