Sony has introduced a new SF-G series of SD cards and as per manufacturer, it is the fastest SD-card in the world today. Sony SF-G UHS-II SD cards specially designed for professional videographers and photographers to use it in their high-end DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
The company claims that the Sony SF-G Series SD cards are the world’s fastest SD card with a write speed of up to 299 MB/s and read speed of up to 300MB/s, enabled by Sony’s unique firmware. These SD cards are available in three versions: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. To achieve high data rates on new SD-cards using UHS-II interface, which adds a second row of connecting pins to the card for increased transfer rates on compatible hardware.
Sony SF-G series will be able to capture quick 4K video and smooth images in quick-shooting mode. Along with that, Sony also offered a special card reader to take full advantage of the new SD-card.
In addition, the new SF-G SD card will be supplied with the Sony File Rescue software allows for the recovery of photos and videos, including RAW images and 4K XAVC-S video files, that may have been accidentally damaged or deleted.
According to the Sony, “The quick write speed supports maximum performance of digital imaging devices, contributing to longer continuous shooting of high-resolution images with UHS-II supporting cameras. It also contributes to a shorter buffer clearing time so users never miss a critical moment,” “Using Sony’s algorithm, the cards prevent the decrease of data-writing speeds and contribute to the camera’s ability of successive high speed shooting,”
