Sony’s ULT Tower 9 is designed to power an entire party. Thanks to its integrated battery and handles, it’s also portable—at least for customers carrying the hefty speaker. In addition to powerful performance, the Sony party music system offers a karaoke mode and RGB lighting.

About a year after the launch of the ULT Tower 10, Sony is presenting the ULT Tower 9, which is said to offer comparable sound at a slightly lower price. Measuring 41 x 91 x 45.6 centimeters and weighing 29.6 kilograms, the karaoke speaker party speaker is mobile but anything but compact – its wheels at least make it a bit easier to transport.
The ULT Tower 9AC dispenses with a battery, making it €300 cheaper and about a kilogram lighter. Sony installs four tweeters, two midrange drivers, and a square 320-millimeter subwoofer into the tower. The ULT button on the top allows you to switch between two bass modes. Sony doesn’t provide details on the power or volume achieved by the ULT Tower 9 but advertises room-filling 360-degree party sound.
Sony lets you connect two microphones for karaoke sessions, including echo control. Also offers wireless ULTMIC1 microphones. The ULT Tower 9 supports Bluetooth Multipoint, including Sony’s high-quality LDAC codec. Users can combine two speakers into a stereo pair and create a Sony party music system. Alternatively, the ULT Tower 9 can be connected via an AUX jack or Toslink, allowing it to be used with a smart TV. Sony advertises a battery life of up to 25 hours.
