Sony has expanded the range of its E-Mount lenses with the E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS APS-C Zoom Lens – model SEL18135. This is an ideal lens for products like the A6000, A6300, and A6500 mirrorless cameras.
The focal length is equivalent to 27-202.5 mm in the APS-C format, while the aperture is F3.5 – F5.6. The construction uses 16 elements divided into 12 groups with 1 aspherical element and 2 ED glass elements (Extra-low Dispersion). The dimensions are rather compact: 67.2 mm in diameter and 88 mm in length. The weight stands at 325 grams.
There are 7 blades in the diaphragm and the SteadyShot optical stabilizer. The autofocus uses a linear motor. Complete the list of specifications with the minimum focusing distance of 0.45 meters. Sony SEL18135 E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS APS-C Zoom Lens will be available in February and will be sold for $600 USA and $780 CA.
Apart from the Sony E-mount 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens, the company also introduced the Silver variant of the A6300 Mirrorless camera. Recall this model, originally launched (with black finish) in 2016, is equipped with a 24.2-megapixel Exmor APS-C CMOS sensor assisted by the BIONZ X image processor. Sensitivity extends from ISO 100 to ISO 51,200. Sony A6300 has continuous shooting speed up to 11fps with autofocus and 8fps shooting in live-view.
Sony A6300 supports 4K UHD video recording in multiple frame rates up to 30fps, Full HD video recording at 120fps and both resolutions utilize the 100 Mbps XAVC S format. The high-speed, 120fps recording also enables 4x and 5x slow-motion movie recording with the frame rate set to either 30p or 24p.
Sony A6000 silver color variant will be available in February 2018, no further details on pricing. The Black color model with 16-50mm Lens is now available for $848 with a discount of $151.99 only on Amazon.com.
