Sony HDR-AS50 is the only one camera that Sony announced during CES 2016. This is a new action cam with improved image stabilization; 4K timelapse mode; can shoot 1080p video though high bitrate XAVC S format at 60fps; slow motion and Sony supply the camera with a standard Waterproof case for Underwater photography.
As of now the Sony HDR-AS50 Action cam is available for order exclusively at B&H photovideo e-commerce online store without any shipping and selling details. Sony HDR-AS50 has been priced at $198.00 and is bundled with the Underwater housing. While the new Action cam with Live-View Remote priced at $348.

The HDR-AS50 Action cam features 11.1 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor for better low-light photography. It is paired with a Carl Zeiss Tessar f/2.8 lens with high optical quality and wide 170 degrees viewing angles. Sony also integrated SteadyShot electronic image stabilisation tech. popular for evicted unwanted vibrations and helps smooth shooting, even also specialized to reduce low amplitude vibration when mounted on radio-controlled helicopters or drones.
On the exterior, HDR-AS50 has a compact design with larger buttons, easy to operate. Its right sides has a small size LCD screen displays the device parameters. Sony also developed a new generation Live-View Remote allows users to control all the features of this Sony Action Cam from the wristband. A worthwhile upgrade with the ability to fully control its capabilities including power on/off, start/stop video recording and more. User can also attach the remote to various accessories such as Shooting Grip, Handlebar Mount, mount adaptor, or worn as a wristband.
In addition, Sony HDR-AS50 action cam is also comes equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity to interact faster with the mobile app. Of course, you can also connect it with Sony’s Live-View remote controller as well. The HDR-AS50 comes standard waterproof housing that is certified down to 197 ft. / 60m in depth. Apart from water this housing also protects the camera against dust and accidental fall.
