Sony Glass Sound Speaker LSPX-S2 has been officially introduced at CES 2019. The new model is the improved version of the LSPX-S1 model was launched back in 2016. The speaker in the form of the candle has a diameter of about 90 mm and a height of 277 mm, the weight stands at 1.1 kilograms. The base is made with a satin finish, while the upper part is made of organic glass.
The Sony Advanced Vertical Drive technology allows the speaker to reproduce a 360 ° acoustics, with crystalline sounds that fill every corner of the room. The vibrations transmitted to the organic glass body by the underlying actuator spread the sound 360 ° in the vertical direction. There is a 35 mm woofer and a passive radiator inserted in the lower side. The power supplied is 11 W.
The Glass Sound Speaker integrates an adjustable light with 32 modes: the “candlelight” mode imitates the warm light emitted by a candle, and other modes such as “lively” or “dedicated” are also available. The speaker is equipped with a micro USB port, an audio input on 3.5 mm jack, Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is supported by LDAC technology, able to guarantee streaming up to 990 kbps and sampling frequencies up to 96 kHz / 24-bit.
Sony declares compatibility with audio files in high resolution. The Music Center application (iOS and Android) allows you to manage all functions, from the local network to multi-room streaming. By connecting two Sony LSPX-S2 you can also create a stereo configuration, and the speaker is also able to connect to Spotify services via Spotify Connect. The integrated battery facilitates positioning and movements: the battery life is about 8 hours.
