Sony FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G Wide-Angle Cine Zoom Lens Announced

The Sony FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G (SELC1635G) E-mount Lens is a new full-frame wide-angle cine zoom with improved optical performance, ease of use, and intelligent shooting functions.

Sony FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G lens

This Sony zoom lens is optimized for digital cinematography, documentary production, and other premium content produced with full-frame cameras. A wide, constant T3.1 (F2.8) aperture throughout the zoom range and a circular 11-blade aperture allow professional filmmakers to enjoy the shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh.

Two XA (Extreme Aspherical) elements and three aspherical elements minimize distortion, curvature, and astigmatism. Two Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements suppress color distortion, and an advanced nano AR (Anti Reflection) coating on optical surfaces significantly reduces flare and ghosting.

The lens design includes a Linear Response MF focusing ring that provides smooth manual focusing without lag, allowing operators to fine-tune focus accurately and intuitively. The focus ring offers a large 120-degree rotation angle for more precise control.

The kit with the SEL-2860 will cost $2,098 and is now available to pre-order via the Bhphotovideo.com website.
