Along with the Alpha a7C camera, Sony has also announced a FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 wide angle zoom lens that will be bundled with the camera. And now the date of the pre-order of the new compact wide lens has become known: pre-order of the new wide angle to store is scheduled for February 15, 2021. It costs $498 only.

Sony FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 wide angle lens

This is a compact, inexpensive zoom lens that is a good start for newbies and allows you to capture both stills and videos in all genres. According to Sony, it should be the smallest and lightest full-frame zoom. It weighs only 167 grams and is about half the size of the previous FE 28-70mm 3.5 zoom lens. The focal length range of 28 to 60 mm is ideal for most subjects, and the speed of 4.0 to 5.6 is sufficient for general applications.

By the way, the image quality of the small zoom surprised us. The consideration of purchasing this lens for other Alpha cameras to obtain more compact equipment is quite justified. With a new linear motor, the autofocus has become very fast, the seven aperture blades result in a pleasant bokeh, and with the optimized seal, it also defies dust and water splash.
