Sony BRAVIA XR X95K Mini LED TV with Dolby Vision HDR

Sony used the CES 2022 trade fair to present its new Sony X95K Mini LED TV products. In addition to classic LCD models and new OLED TVs, the company is expanding its Sony BRAVIA XR product portfolio with 4K and 8K televisions that rely on mini-LED backlighting. A rich black, a high dynamic range, and a strong brightness value are promised. At the same time, the display should manage almost without light reflections or halo effects.

Sony X95K series represents the cheaper Mini LED TV models with 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) and is available in 65, 75, and 85-inch sizes. All innovations have in common Google TV as the operating system, a premium remote control, a hands-free function for voice control, and Dolby Vision as a dynamic HDR format. Also worth mentioning is the included (Z9K) or optional (X95K) Bravia Cam, which offers gesture control and can automatically adjust both image and sound quality to the user’s sitting position.

An IMAX Enhanced mode, a Calman Ready verification, and a Netflix Adaptive Calibrated mode are also offered. The latter is a new display mode that measures the ambient light and dynamically optimizes the image so that streaming content is displayed in the form the creators intended. On the acoustic side, you can look forward to (virtual) surround sound backdrops with the new Sony TVs thanks to Dolby Atmos and XR Surround.

For gamers, 4K at 120 Hz, ALLM (“Auto Low Latency Mode”), and VRR (“Variable Refresh Rate”) are available for the Sony TV Bravia series. The whole thing is implemented via HDMI 2.1 interfaces. If you want to operate a PlayStation 5 on the devices, you can look forward to tone mapping with automatic HDR and an automatic genre picture mode.

Sony X95K price and availability is starting a pre-order phase for the Sony X95K series today and shipping will start from April 25, 2022. The manufacturer calls for the following pricing for the Sony BRAVIA XR X95K models:

Along with these Mini LED TV models, Sony has also made available the new mid-range soundbar Sony HT-S400 with a wireless subwoofer for the deepest possible bass. It costs $299.99 only.
