Sony presents the Bravia 8 II, a new flagship 4K 120 Dolby Vision smart TV featuring a QD-OLED panel that delivers 50% more brightness than its predecessor and reproduces films more authentically than ever.

The new Sony Bravia 8 II replaces the older Bravia 8 (approximately $1,398 / £1,399 on Amazon) and the Sony A95L. Thanks to a more modern QD-OLED panel, the new flagship is 50% and 25% brighter than the two aforementioned smart TVs from last year. A unique feature of the Bravia 8 II is the so-called “Studio Calibrated” modes, which were developed in collaboration with leading streaming services.
These adapt the color representation to Sony’s reference monitors, rendering films and series more authentic than ever. This should benefit films broadcast via Sony’s Sony Pictures Core streaming service. Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video are also supported.
The Dolby Vision 120Hz Sony Smart TV is based on Google TV. It supports all standard streaming services, including Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2. The optional Bravia Cam allows the TV to be controlled using hand gestures. It also adjusts the picture and sound to suit your seating position.

Sony claims the Bravia 8 II works seamlessly with a PlayStation 5. It automatically activates gaming mode, adjusts the display settings to the game genre, and synchronizes the console’s HDR settings with the smart TV. The smart TV supports Dolby Vision HDR and features HDMI 2.1. It allows games to run in 4K at 120 frames per second. The so-called “on-screen speaker” vibrates the OLED panel to produce sound.
