The Sony Bravia 2 II, a new 4K HDR-capable TV for North America, has been announced. It’s the cheapest model in the brand’s Bravia 2025 TV range. This TV features near-4K upscaling, a 4K HDR X1 Sony processor, and wireless screen sharing via Apple AirPlay 2. It also includes features designed specifically for PlayStation 5 console users.

Sony has unveiled the Bravia 2 II TV for the US and Canada. The entry-level model in the Bravia 2025 range in these two markets is complemented by the recently unveiled Bravia 8 II TV. It will be available in 43, 50, 55, 65 and 75 inches.
The Bravia 2 II is a 4K model featuring an LCD panel and direct LED backlighting. Moreover, it offers a native refresh rate of 60Hz and near-4K upscaling, thanks to the 4K X-Reality PRO processor. Additionally, it supports HDR10 and HLG formats, enhancing the viewing experience. However, the company has not disclosed the typical brightness level.
The Sony Android TV voice remote control uses Google TV, which supports Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice commands and wireless screen casting via Google Cast or Apple AirPlay 2. PlayStation 5 users enjoy enhanced gaming with features like Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode. Additionally, the Game menu provides easy access to settings, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and HDMI 2.1 ports. Two 10W speakers are also built-in and support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Sony Bravia TV 2 II Price and Release Date
Sony has announced that pre-orders for the Bravia 2 II series will commence on May 5, 2025, through B&H Photo and Sony’s official websites. Although the official release date remains undisclosed, the company has revealed pricing details: $699.99 for the 55-inch model, $799.99 for the 65-inch, and $1,099.99 for the 75-inch version.
Sony has also introduced the Bravia 5 Mini LED 4K TV, featuring the XR Backlight Master Drive for precise control over thousands of Mini LEDs. This technology delivers exceptional brightness and contrast, enhancing the viewing experience. The XR Processor, powered by AI, optimizes color, clarity, and contrast in real time, bringing scenes to life with remarkable accuracy.
