After a long time of waiting, Sony has officially unveiled the new firmware V2.0 for A7R II Full-frame Mirrorless Camera. This new update with imaging capabilities of 14-bit Uncompressed RAW, so now users can take a full benefit of the 42-megapixel sensor in the Sony A7R II without any fear of affecting the picture quality.
Beside A7R II, Sony A7S II Camera is also capable of 14-bit Uncompressed RAW photography. The other camera of the Sony Alpha line will be soon updated with this feature in the future via a new firmware update. User can Download a new firmware V2.0 here from Sony E-support website.
Sony A7R II Firmware V2.0 Features:
- Add the ability to shoot 14-bit Uncompressed RAW
- Add HDMI video output capability via Remote Camera Control application
The changes from previous firmware V1.1 update includes:
- Improved a symptom to rarely become front focus depend on shooting scene.
- Decreased chroma noise when long exposure NR is set off.
- Improved Hi continuous shooting speed when using with the flash.
