Sony A68 debut with 24MP Sensor, A-Mount and Translucent Mirror Technology

UPDATE:- Sony A68 Price and Availability, Sony Alpha a68 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens has been priced at $699 listed on B&HPhoto e-commerce website and will be available for purchase on Tue, Mar 1 12AM alongside there is also listed a Camera body only but without Price tag.

After some rumors, Sony has officially introduced the Alpha A68 DSLR-style camera with Translucent Mirror Technology. The design of the Sony A68 is based on the A77 II camera body, but it comes equipped with a 24 megapixel APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and fast autofocus system similar to the A77 II included 79 AF points along with 15 cross points.

Basically A68 is a shortened second version of the A77 with 2.7-inch LCD flip screen, a resolution of 460.800 pixels, OLED Tru-Finder EVF – electronic viewfinder 1.44 million pixels. The A68 still uses 24.3MP APS-C-size Exmor CMOS sensor along with BIONZ X image processor, which uses Diffraction-reducing and Detail Reproduction technologies, as well as new Area-specific Noise Reduction that can rated to deliver more accomplished detail.Sony-A68-Price

Focus system includes 79 AF points focus mechanism with dedicated phase-detection AF sensors, which includes 15 cross points. The AF system also works well in low-light environments, even focus on subjects in scenes with low lighting levels as low as EV-2 (ISO 100). A shutter speed of the camera is only 1/4000 seconds, but still ensures the continuous shooting at 8frames/sec.Sony A68 Specifications

The Sony A68 support Full HD video recording capability in XAVC S format at 50 Mbps besides also supporting AVCHD 2.0 and MP4 format. Sony SLT A68 support similar features as the A77 II as the ability to adjust the autofocus speed or an external mic port support. With weight only 610 grams, the camera body may have cut out some metal components to reduce weight compared to the weight of the A77 II. Besides A68 not support Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, like the high-segment A-mount cameras of Sony. The control system on the rear panel is significantly simplified, without many buttons like A77 II. A68 offset still own an LCD part, convenient for monitoring the parameters.

In Europe, the Sony A68 priced at 600 EUR – approximately $650 for the camera body only and 700 EUR – approximately $760 with SAL18552 – DT18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II lens kit. However, it will be available from March 2016 in the market.
