SLR Magic launches MicroPrime CINE 21mm T1.6 and 50mm T1.4 Lenses for Micro Four Thirds Cameras

Back in February 2018, SLR Magic announced support for the Micro Four Thirds system. That step was not formal – now the Chinese manufacturer has released several lenses compatible with Micro Four Thirds cameras: SLR Magic has expanded its MFT lenses range with the launch of the MicroPrime CINE 21mm T1.6 and MicroPrime CINE 50mm T1.4.

The MicroPrime CINE series now includes five Micro Four Thirds mount models: 12mm T2.8, 18mm T2.8, 21mm T1.6, 25mm T1.5, and 50mm T1.4.

Like their predecessors, the new lenses are fully manual, designed for thread filters with a diameter of 82 mm and lens hoods with a fitting diameter of 85 mm, internal focus mechanism minimizes breathing and prevents the front of the lens from rotating while pulling focus. Both are almost identical in form factor and weight, due to which compatibility is ensured with accessories used when shooting with Micro Four Thirds cameras.

The optical structure of the MicroPrime CINE 21mm T1.6 lens includes 13 elements in 11 groups. While the 50mm T1.4 lens counts on 6 elements in 5 groups. Both lenses produce sharp images and pleasing bokeh with natural-looking out-of-focus highlights. Both have an 85mm front diameter for compatibility with a variety of matte boxes, an internal focus design so the front of the lens doesn’t rotate when focusing, and an 82mm front filter thread.
