SK Hynix SSD has expanded its portfolio of energy-efficient Gold P31 PCIe NVMe SSD with a new 2TB model. The SKhynix has released 1TB and 500GB models last year.
According to the manufacturer, this SK Hynix SSD series of drives is designed for high-intensity workloads in applications related to the creation of 3D graphics, digital content, and games. SKhynix SSD is developed in 128-layer NAND flash memory and has paired that with DRAM technology.
Like the previous internal SSD models of the Gold P31 series, the new SSD 2TB model uses the PCIe 3.0 interface. The PC SSD uses a Cepheus memory controller and proprietary LPDDR4 chips that provide sequential read and write speeds of 3500 and 3200 MB/s, respectively. The declared resource is 1200 TBW (guaranteed terabytes of rewriting).
With a write rate of 172.2 MB/s per watt, SK Hynix Gold P31 Series NVMe drives are 434% more energy efficient than comparable offerings from other manufacturers, according to third-party reviews.
With the sleek stick-type M.2 form factor of 22X80mm, the Gold P31 SSD for PC is not only compatible with desktops but also easily installs into laptops. It comes with a 5-year warranty, tested and validated through 1,000 hours of HTOL (Stress Test) with MTBF reaching 1.5 million hours, and up to 1,200 TBW (TeraBytes Written).

The SK Hynix Gold P31 series 2TB NVMe PCIe drive has been priced at $279.99 and is now available to buy at the Amazon.com website.
Earlier this month, Crucial has also expanded its SSD portfolio with the launch of the P5 Plus series that includes 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD 2280 drives with PCIe4.0 x4 interface and NVMe 1.3 protocol support. These PCIe Gen 4 drives use Micron’s 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory and new controller technology, and pricing starts from $107.99.
