A month ago, the first information appeared about the upcoming Sirui 35mm f/1.8 Anamorphic 1.33x lens for APS-C and MFT cameras. Now, this new Anamorphic lens is finally available to purchase in the Bhphoto store.
SIRUI shook up the anamorphic lens industry last year with the versatile and affordable 50mm F1.8 lens. The company has decided to add a new focal length this year to bring an affordable 35mm anamorphic lens to the market for users who are already shooting video and cinema or want to try their hand at this genre.
Compared to its 50mm predecessor, the upcoming Sirui 35mm f/1.8 1.33x expands the horizontal angle of view by 33%, just like the 26.3mm lens, which is valuable for high-quality widescreen shots. One of the features of this lens is that it produces horizontal blue streaks with less stray light, which Sirui calls sci-fi horizontal flares. A key aspect of anamorphic lenses is highlighted oval bokeh, and this lens produces a shallow depth of field and oval bokeh with its 10 aperture blades.
They promise that the new lens, like its predecessor, with its compact size should be ideal in terms of optical distortion and focus breathing. It will receive a high-quality assembly, an aircraft-grade aluminum-alloy body, and Schott optical elements.
