Sigma is expanding its high-quality Art product line with a classic tele-macro, which should offer the highest image quality. The new Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG DN Macro Art Lens is the first macro lens in the Art line that was specially developed for mirrorless cameras. The tele-macro is – at least for the time being – only offered with two connections: on the one hand with L-Mount for cameras from Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, and on the other hand with Sony E-Mount.
According to Sigma, everything that defines a medium telephoto macro has been implemented at the highest level in the new 105 mm lens. It should offer the highest optical performance and AF performance in the sense of the Sigma Art product line as well as a multitude of functions and is also made of excellent processing quality.
Medium telephoto macro lenses are very popular in photography circles and are often part of the basic equipment. Particularly, they open up a creative scope and offer a useful working distance. The purpose of a telephoto macro is not only designed for high-tech or creative macro photography (products, nature, food, etc.) but as a very bright telephoto, it is suitable for many other subjects such as travel, landscape, animals, portraits, etc.
With the new Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG DN Macro Art is a highly flexible macro lens, which stands out due to its numerous setting options and is just as suitable for macro photography as it is for portrait photography, but also gives a very good image in other areas.
Due to the special perspective that only a macro lens offers, it allows photographers a particularly creative perspective on small beauties or impressive details of everyday life, especially when capturing close-ups.
All in all, Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG DN Macro Art distinguishes itself through a performance at the highest level and even surpasses the expectations that one puts in a classic medium telephoto macro lens.
The lens is also protected against dust and water splash so that it can be used in harsh shooting conditions without any problems. All rings and switches are characterized by a particularly durable design, excellent operability, and a comfortable grip.
Ease of use, adaptability to the environment, and smooth operation were designed for professional use. This extends the 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro Art pushes the boundaries for photographers and offers them a variety of creative options.
