Sharp P721Q and P601Q 4K Laser XPR DLP Projectors are available

At the beginning of the year, Sharp NEC Display Solutions announced new professional laser XPR DLP projectors, planning to release them in September 2024. However, Sharp delayed both the P721Q and P601Q significantly. They are now available in the B&H Photo online store.

Sharp NEC Display Solutions has announced two new business laser projectors for meeting rooms, museums, and educational institutions. Sharp has released the P721Q and P601Q models under its brand, designing them to offer NEC quality. These models use DLP technology, require little maintenance, and include motorized autofocus and lens shift.

The light source has a lifespan of 20,000 hours and a maximum brightness of 6,000 ANSI lumens (P601Q) or 7,200 ANSI lumens (P721Q). The manufacturer states that the XPR DLP projectors deliver a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K), likely achieved through upscaling because of the DLP technology.

For example, they are suitable for large-scale projections in conference rooms, museums, or universities and have a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). However, content with up to 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K) can also be displayed via upscaling.

The contrast ratio is 3,000,000:1, the operating volume is 34 dB (Eco) or 36 dB (Normal), and the power consumption is 280 watts (Eco) or 520 watts (Normal). The features include a remote control, IP5X protection, two internal 20-watt stereo speakers, and horizontal and vertical keystone correction. There is also an autofocus and a lens shift – both motorized.
