Seagate launches Five New 14TB Hard Drives

Seagate expands its high capacity hard drives portfolio with the launch of the five new 14TB hard drives on the market. These are Seagate IronWolf and IronWolf Pro for NAS systems, Barracuda Pro for desktop applications, SkyHawk for video surveillance and Exos X14 for data center systems.

Seagate 14TB Hard Drives

Seagate IronWolf and IronWolf Pro 14TB hard drives are designed for NAS that is aimed at reliability and performance. Optimized for RAID configurations thanks to the AgileArray firmware, the drives offer RV (rotational vibration) sensor, advanced energy management, and error-recovery control functionality. Seagate IronWolf and IronWolf Pro are covered by a 3 year and 5-year warranty respectively.

Seagate BarraCuda Pro 14TB hard drives are designed for professional desktop systems, workstations, and DAS (direct attached storage) systems. It can deliver industry-leading 7200 RPM spin speed, along with 250mb/s data transfer rates and up to 256MB of cache, the highest available today, powered by Seagate’s Multi-Tier Caching Technology (MTC), as well as the support of a 5-year warranty.

Seagate SkyHawk 14TB hard drives are ideal for video surveillance systems; capable of storing up to 9,000 hours of HD movies, this disc is optimized for DVR and NVR systems that operate 24/7; in this case, the warranty is extended up to 3 years.

The line closes with the Seagate Exos X14 14TB, it is optimized for high-density data centers that also look at energy efficiency. It is a helium-sealed hard disk that compared to the previous generation offers a 10% less weight, 5-year warranty, and equipped with Seagate Secure technology for the data encryption with low impact on performance.
