Seagate Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition SSD with RGB lighting

Seagate has presented a strictly limited edition M.2 NVMe SSD, which is particularly noticeable due to its extremely idiosyncratic design – as the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition, the Seagate FireCuda 520 1TB Solid State Drive not only comes with a yellow heat sink with a Cyberpunk logo but also with RGB lighting.

Seagate Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition 1TB Solid State Drive

The latest 1TB solid state drive from Seagate is aimed almost exclusively at fans of Cyberpunk 2077 ( approx. 40 euros on Amazon ), because the manufacturer combines a commercially available FireCuda 520 with a massive heat sink in the typical Cyberpunk yellow color. The design is rounded off by a cyberpunk logo with RGB lighting, the color of which can be freely controlled.

In keeping with the game, the NVMe M.2 SSD is limited to only 2,077 pieces, so it is almost a collector’s item. The heat sink is supposed to cool the SSD by “up to 22 degrees Celsius or 71 degrees Fahrenheit” – but the manufacturer has not specified the conditions under which these results were measured. Due to the heat sink, the SSD becomes significantly larger, the height is 18.25 millimeters so that you should make sure that there is enough space in your own system before buying.

Technically, it is a regular Seagate FireCuda 520 SSD connected via PCIe 4.0 x4 and should achieve speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s (read) or 4,400 MB/s (write). The manufacturer specifies a service life of 1,800 TBW (model with 1 TB storage), maximum power consumption of 5.6 watts, and a random speed of up to 760,000 IOPS.

Price and availability

Seagate FireCuda 520 Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition is finally listed on Amazon.com for $229.99. For comparison: The technically identical FireCuda 520 with 1 TB of storage costs around $189.99 on Amazon.

Recently, Sabrent has introduced a huge 16TB SSD into the market with the launch of the Rocket XTRM-Q external solid state drive, which combines two 8TB drives in a single case, and is priced at $2,899.99.
