Samyang continues to develop and update its line of optics for Sony E mount mirrorless cameras. The manufacturer introduced the second version of the fast wide angle lens – Samyang 35mm f1.4 AF II for mirrorless cameras with Sony E-mount.
The new wide angle lens has become a little heavier than the previous one, it weighs 659 grams, its length is almost 12 cm with a diameter of 7.5 cm, and the thread diameter for the filter is 67 mm.
The new Samyang 35mm F1.4 FE II received protection from dust and moisture due to seals, there is also a switch on the lens that allows you to switch between manual and autofocus (M1 position) and aperture control (in M2 position) by default.
There is also one programmable button to which you can assign any other setting. The optical design (as in the first version of the lens) still consists of 11 elements arranged in nine groups. The aperture has nine blades, and the minimum focusing distance is 29 cm.
The design of the lens has changed slightly compared to the first version, for example, the red Samyang ring has become silver.
Price and availability
As for the price of the Samyang 35mm F1.4 FE AF II lens, it costs $799 and is available now for pre-order on the Bhphotovideo.com online store. Shipping will begin in mid-April 2022.

Earlier, Japanese manufacturer Sony announced the release of a new wide-angle zoom lens Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G. This is the first Sony lens to use both autofocus and zoom using linear motors.
The Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G (approx. $1,198 on Amazon or Bhphotovideo) is a small and lightweight autofocus zoom lens that doesn’t change size with zoom, meaning it can be used with a range of stabilizers without having to rebalance those devices.
