Samsung launches Galaxy XCover FieldPro Rugged Smartphone With MIL-STD-810G, Push-to-Talk

Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro rugged smartphone has been officially launched and the company expands its durable cell phones series. This new Samsung rugged phone comes with Samsung Knox security platform, Push-t0-Talk connectivity, MIL-STD-810G, and IP68 certified.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro features a 5.1-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 2.7 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 512GB.

This new Samsung rugged smartphone is MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certified and it can survive drops, shocks, and vibrations to extreme temperatures, rain, blowing dust and even a half-hour in five-foot-deep water. It also comes with a dedicated physical push-to-talk and emergency request buttons that are programmable to send location data or alerts and can be activated whether wearing gloves or in adverse weather conditions. The device is also Band 14- enabled for dedicated emergency response communications.

On the camera front, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro bears a 12-megapixel main rear camera with triple LED flash, dual aperture, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It also features the Samsung Knox security platform and is also certified for use by the federal government, based on standards set by the National Information Assurance Partnership.

A rugged phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but supports an upgrade to Android 10. It also sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, packs a 4500mAh battery with POGO pin charging and it also ships with an extra battery and is field replaceable. For connectivity includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz+5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type C. The device measures 158.5 x 80.7 x 14.2mm and weighs 256 grams.
