After the availability of the Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra 5G smartphones with a stylus and super-high-resolution triple camera, now we have two new top Android tablet models that follow last year’s Tab S6 models are the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus with an 11-inch and the 12.4-inch display respectively. Both have been equipped with the latest processors (Snapdragon 865 Plus) and therefore should also boast in terms of performance.
The 11 inch (Samsung Tab S7) or the 12.4 inch (Tab S7+) large display of the new Samsung tablets offers a very smooth refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. The larger OLED display (sAMOLED) in the Samsung Tablet S7 Plus corresponds to the NTSC color space and pleases with rich black values, while the smaller Samsung S7 tablet with an LCD-TFT in the LTPS manufacturing process (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) covers the large DCI-P3 color space. The resolution of the larger Tab S7 + is 2800 × 1752 pixels at 266ppi, while that of the smaller one is a bit lower (2560 × 1600 pixels, 276ppi).
Both Samsung tablets are available in a pure WLAN / Wi-Fi version with Wi-Fi 6 or with additional mobile communications, whereby the Galaxy Tab S7 is content with LTE, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus is available with the next or latest generation of mobile communications (5G). For wired data transfer there is USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) via a USB-C socket.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus and Galaxy Tab S7 are likely to be of interest to some photographers, because to date, instead of a notebook, the tablet has more camera controls, it complements the tablet photo device rather than the notebook as a tool for image checking and editing etc., and the two innovations complement each other are currently the most powerful tablets from Samsung, which also come with Samsung S Pen for precise work. There is a recess with a magnetic hold on the back of the tablet for the pen.
Both can be used not only as virtual notepads, but also as high-resolution drawing boards or for precise image retouching. Here, too, the functional “S Pen” supplied plays a crucial role. It’s an ideal companion for note-taking, drawing, and photo-editing apps.
With the optional Book Cover Keyboard, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus and Samsung Tab S7 can be used almost like a classic notebook.
On the one hand, the two tablets complement the Galaxy ecosystem and are ideal for taking notes on the go or at any workplace. You also benefit from the adjustments made to Samsung Notes, because the latest version of the app is even more helpful and flexible. For example, PDF files and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations can now be imported directly in order to add handwritten comments to the documents. Handwritten notes can be converted directly into text form or straightened out with the straightening function. The app now has an automatic storage and synchronization function so that important notes are no longer lost or accessed on other compatible devices in the hustle and bustle. Audio recordings can also be added to notes.
The tablets can be connected wirelessly to a compatible Windows 10 PC. In fact, Samsung Notes can synchronize with Microsoft OneNote and Outlook is not only convenient, but also practical and time-saving.
