Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris with Dual-eye scanner Launched

Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris Tablet has been officially launched in India, it features an iris-recognition technology that is Aadhaar-complaint and STQC-certified under ‘Make for India’ initiative. The Galaxy Tab Iris tablet flaunts a 7.0-inch TFT LCD display with WSVGA resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core Cortex A7 processor paired with 1.5GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 8GB of internal storage which can also be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card.

This Samsung Tablet comes with a 5-megapixel autofocus primary camera on the back without LED flash and there is a an iris camera and subsystem. The Tablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and packs in a 3600mAh battery out of the box.

On the connectivity front, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio options. It measures 193.4×116.4×9.7mm and weighs around 327 grams.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris with an iris scanner that company called a ‘dual-eye scanner’. This feature will enable the consumers to access services remotely by embedding Aadhaar iris-biometric authentication capabilities. Samsung added, “This alignment will provide a more secure authentication and verification process and help the country transition away from traditional authentication processes.” It is also UIDAI compliant and hence it can be used for child enrolment program, where biometrics of the parent is used to authenticate children for Aadhaar enrolment.biometric technology
