Samsung Galaxy S25+ with Snapdragon 8 Elite: Pre-order Discount

Samsung introduced its new Galaxy S25 smartphone series at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy S25+ is thinner, lighter, and equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It also supports new Galaxy AI features like the low-light video noise filter called “Night Video.” WiFi 7 and Qi2 wireless charging are also on board. Compared to the Galaxy S24+, however, much has remained the same.

During the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung presented its new Galaxy S25 smartphone series. The Galaxy S25+ also has the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which now replaces Samsung’s Exynos chip. The smartphone is also 7 grams lighter and 0.4 millimeters thinner.

Differences Galaxy S25 vs. S25+

Compared to the Galaxy S25 (non-Plus), the Plus variant, like its predecessors, supports UWB (Ultra-Wideband) to unlock the car or smart home or locate Samsung Smart Tags. The battery remains at 4,900 mAh and is, therefore, 900 mAh larger than the Non-Plus. However, the new SoC and the Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with an automatically adjusted refresh rate of 1-120 Hz promise a longer battery life in all S25 models. The display resolution and diagonal differ between the S25 and S25 Plus: FHD+ vs. QHD+ and 6.2 inches vs. 6.7 inches – Compared to the S24+, the display specifications remain unchanged except for the dynamic refresh rate.

Another difference to the smaller S25 is the fast charging capability of 45 watts instead of just 25 watts. However, all S25 smartphones support reverse and wireless charging according to the Qi2 standard with 15 watts. Still, the design lacks integrated magnets for this, so users must rely on an optional charging case to secure the charger. Another difference between the S25 and S25+ lies in their storage capacities; the S25 offers a minimum of 128 GB, while the S25+ starts at 256 GB.

Significantly improved performance, cooling, and new camera AI tools

The rest of the specifications are the same as the S25, and not much has changed compared to its predecessor: the same battery capacity, charging speed, and camera system with a 50 MP primary camera, 12 MP ultrawide, and 10 MP telephoto, including 3x optical zoom. However, Galaxy’s next-gen ProVisual Engine and ProScaler deliver 40% better quality in image scaling. The new Galaxy AI features, such as the low-light noise filter called “Night Video,” are also exciting and designed to filter both video and audio noise in low-light scenarios effectively.

The new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset enables this performance. Samsung claims it delivers a 40 percent faster NPU, a 37 percent faster CPU, and a 30 percent faster GPU compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Vulkan API and improved ray tracing enhance mobile gaming by making it smoother and more realistic. Samsung has increased the vapor chamber size by 40% to improve cooling efficiency. WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 have made it into the S25 series. There are also 5G, NFC, GNSS, eSIM, and Android 15, including One UI 7 and 7 years of OS and security updates.
