Samsung launches Galaxy Book Go with Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 at $349, 5G later this year

Samsung officially launched the previously leaked Galaxy Book Go. This new mini laptop Samsung Galaxy Book Go is, in many ways, the successor to the Galaxy Book S was launched last year. It is also equipped with Qualcomm processors based on Arm technology.

Samsung Galaxy Book Go laptop

Samsung has finally removed the cover from its previously leaked Galaxy Book Go, which was due to be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event last month. The device follows the Galaxy Book S of 2020, but is less thin and light while being much more affordable. Like the Galaxy Book S, the new mini notebook Samsung models are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and feature 14-inch 1080p TFT LCD screens.

The first Galaxy Book Go model to hit the market is powered by the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 SoC processor and is available in either a Wi-Fi only or LTE configuration. It weighs 1.38 kg and is equipped with a 42.3 Wh battery which should provide a battery life of at least 15 hours. It comes with a 25W USB-C fast charger in the box and is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound. They come in 4GB / 64GB and 8GB / 128GB RAM and storage configurations.

Samsung hasn’t had much to say about the more powerful Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 with 5G other than that it will be available later this year. We keep our fingers crossed that Samsung at least gives this model an improved 14-inch panel. Even if it’s not OLED or QLED, a higher resolution would be nice. Thinner and lighter would be even better too, but it looks like all models of the Galaxy Book Go will use this new chassis. If Samsung can at least keep the price tight, it could help offset any disappointment Galaxy Book S fans might have with the new form factor.

Price and availability

Price starts from a very attractive $349.99 and is already available to buy on various online stores like Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Bestbuy.com, and Adorama.com.
