Samsung S27AG50: New gaming monitor from Odyssey G5 series with 27 inches and 165 Hz

Samsung announced a new gaming monitor in its Odyssey G5 series. This Samsung 27 inch monitor (S27AG50) comes with high refresh rates of at least 165 Hz and has a resolution of up to WQHD. Samsung should be able to serve a large part of the price spectrum in the gaming market with this Samsung G5 monitor.

The new Odyssey G5 series monitor is delivered with a 16: 9 aspect ratio and is aimed specifically at gamers. Samsung is thus expanding its already impressive selection of gaming monitors. It is equipped with a flat, 37-inch IPS panel that has a WQHD resolution. This means that 2,560 x 1,440 pixels are displayed. The manufacturer specifies the refresh rate with 165 Hz, the latency for GtG (gray to gray) with 1 ms. It is also important for gamers that tearing is combated with FreeSync Premium and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync.

The other key figures of the new Samsung Odyssey monitor include a contrast ratio of 1000: 1, 10-bit color depth, and a brightness of 350 cd/m². This also brings the gaming monitor an HDR10. In addition, a black equalizer is on board, with which dark areas can be brightened when gaming.

DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 2.0, and headphone output are available as connections. In addition to the supplied stand, it can also be mounted using a VESA mount with 100 x 100 mm. In terms of ergonomics, the Samsung S27AG50 has a lot to offer. The Samsung 27 inch monitor can be rotated, tilted, and adjusted in height, and it also supports the pivot function. Blue light filter and flicker-free backlighting are also part of Samsung’s new 27-inch gaming monitor.
