The Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has introduced a new HDR400 gaming monitor, the ROG Strix XG259CMS, aimed at gamers. This 24.5-inch monitor features an IPS panel with Full HD 1080p resolution and supports a maximum refresh rate of 310 Hz.
To consistently reach over 300 fps in games, you’ll need robust gaming hardware and the willingness to lower the graphics settings, depending on the game.
The ROG Strix XG259CMS specs also state a 1 ms response time (G2G), 8-bit color depth, 400 cd/m² typical brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a power consumption of less than 18.7 watts.
The 1080p Full HD model supports FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatible Adaptive Sync, which can be used alongside an anti-blur feature, making it ELMB Sync capable. It also features Variable Overdrive 2.0, a black stabilizer, an FPS counter, and crosshair overlays.
In terms of connections, you can use DisplayPort 1.4 (Full HD at max. 310Hz), HDMI 2.0 (Full HD at max. 240 Hz), headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 7.5 watts PD.
