Roborock presented the successor to the S8 series at CES 2025. The Saros 10 and Saros 10R, the best floor robot vacuum and mop, come with vibrating wiping technology and have some exciting new features, including a retractable laser tower, StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 instead of LDS, VertiBeam, and Multifunctional Dock 4.0.
Roborock Saros 10
The Saros 10 is the standard model and (like the S8 series) uses a vibrating mop plate instead of rotating mops. It features VibraRise 4.0 technology with a 26 percent larger vibration surface, 4,000 vibrations per minute, and up to 8 N of pressure.
One of the new features is the LDS module on the top (RetractSense Navigation System), which can be retracted if necessary to drive under furniture. Even then, the vacuum and mop robot, which is only 7.98 cm thick, should continue to navigate systematically using the time-of-flight sensor. According to the manufacturer, the wide-angle vision module with a 100-degree field of view improves room mapping. It reduces errors even in challenging environments, while Reactive AI 3.0 is on board for obstacle detection. Roborock also installs a vertical laser with the VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance System, enabling even more precise furniture cleaning.
The suction power has increased to an impressive 22,000 Pa. The DuoDivide main brush effectively prevents hair from wrapping around it. In contrast, the FlexiArm Riser side brush extends into corners and lifts like the wiping module. In addition, the new Robrock Saros 10 (like all new models) features the AdaptiLift chassis introduced last year, which can overcome thresholds and the like up to 4 cm high.
The new Saros 10 from Roborock is supplied with the RockDock Ultra 2.0. The charging and cleaning station offers improvements such as 80°C hot water mop cleaning, automatic removal, quick charging, and an optional fixed water connection.

Roborock Saros 10R
It matches the Saros 10 in positioning but relies on different navigation technology. Instead of using the established retractable laser tower found in the Saros 10, the Saros 10R incorporates the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, which combines AI-controlled dual-light 3D ToF technology with an RGB camera.
According to the manufacturer, the system offers a 21-fold higher sampling rate than conventional LDS systems and debuted at IFA 2024 last year. Since the navigation technology, also used for obstacle detection, sits at the front and rear, the design remains flat at just 7.98 cm.
The VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance System is new. It uses a vertical laser to improve cleaning along irregular obstacles. Like the other IFA innovation, the Qrevo Curv, Roborock is also installing the AdaptiLift chassis in the Saros innovations at CES 2025. This allows the vacuum robot to overcome obstacles up to 4 cm high, such as door thresholds.
In contrast to the Saros 10, Roborock equips the Saros 10R with the two rotating mops from the Qrevo models, which it can lift. The suction power is 19,000 Pa, slightly lower than the Saros 10. The anti-tangle system keeps hair from tangling. The multifunctional dock 4.0 supplies the vacuum and mop robot with 80°C hot water mop cleaning, automatic mop removal, and quick charging in just 2.5 hours. A version with a fixed water installation is also available.
