Ring announced the new Ring Car Cam at CES 2023. This is a well-equipped car dash cam designed not only to monitor traffic but also the interior of the car.
The Ring dash cam comes equipped with two cameras, both of which can control night vision. The exterior-facing camera offers a viewing angle of 111.5° horizontally and 56° vertically, while the diagonal viewing angle of the interior camera is estimated to be 153°. Additionally, video can be downloaded in Full HD resolution.
The Ring Car Cam can be accessed through LTE, although an optional Ring Protect Go subscription is required. A GPS module is included as part of the device’s equipment. The car’s occupants can be reached through the app, as communication is possible in both directions thanks to the built-in microphone. The system connects via the OBD II port.
The Ring Car Cam is also designed with safety in mind. It features a collision warning that alerts the driver of potential dangers on the road and the built-in GPS module will give you live updates on traffic and weather conditions, helping you navigate through the road more safely and efficiently.
The device is also great for parents or guardians who want to keep an eye on their teens while they drive. With the built-in camera, they can monitor the interior of the car and be sure that the driver is not using their phone or engaging in other unsafe behaviors while behind the wheel.
Ring Car Cam price and availability
The new car dash camera has been priced at $199.99 and can be pre-ordered via Amazon.com. The Ring Car Camera will be released on February 15, 2023.
Earlier this year, Garmin introduced the DriveCam 76 GPS navigator device, which comes with a range of interesting features, such as an integrated car dash camera with a recording function, collision warning, and a live display of traffic and weather. The device has been priced at $449.99.
