Ring Alarm, the Amazon-based company specializing in home surveillance products, recently unveiled the ring security system – its new range of the second generation Ring Alarm system.
Compared to the previous generation, the new keypad has three new buttons for emergencies: one-touch buttons that let you request police, fire brigade, or medical assistance with just one tap.
In terms of design, we are faced a product with a more refined appearance from the first iteration, with a matte finish that replaces the glossy one, and more compact dimensions.
At the software level, however, the differences are not so many: the set is still capable of recognizing suspicious movements and sending a notification to the associated devices, however in order to have access to the emergency options even remotely, it is necessary to subscribe to the Ring Protect Plus subscription, choosing whether to pay $10 per month or $100 per year, after your free 30-day trial or cancel at any time. If you have additional accessories, also offers additional options for monitoring your home including temperature, presence of smoke or carbon monoxide, ability to detect any flooding and produce video recordings.
Like its predecessor, the new Ring Alarm system can also be activated or deactivated via the mobile app and paired with Alexa for voice control. This new Alarm system is also compatible with a Ring Video Doorbell and several Ring Security Cams.
The ring security system arrives on the market in kits of 5, 10 and 14 pieces, designed to cover more or less large living spaces. All packages include a base station, keypad, motion and contact sensors, and range extender. This new model does not replace the old one, but joins it in the catalog: the pricing starts from $199 via Amazon.com, and shipments will begin starting April 29, 2020.
