Xiaomi has announced that the latest version of its operating system, MIUI 8 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but now the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 MIUI 8.1.1.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has been arrived and will be rolling out to eligible devices starting today.
Making the announcement via Mi forum that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 MIUI 8.1.1.0 MHOMIDI update still shows as “Nightly” means it is Beta Stable release before the final update so some users can’t get it. It is currently being pushed to random users. MIUI 8.1.1.0 MHOMIDI update will be through OTA, so other users have to wait for the public release.
As for how to upgrade, user will receive update notification on their phone when the OTA update is ready for their device. Users can also refer to the Updater app to check for updates. Those who want to try it out can get the OTA Zip from here and flash it at your own risk. The update data size is 1.3GB, while the changelog is same as the previous update, with some additional bug fixes and optimizations. Stable build is expected to roll out for all Redmi Note 3 users soon.
