Razer Phone has just entered into the selected list of smartphone devices compatible with Netflix’s high-quality technologies. In a new system upgrade released to the gamer smartphone, support was given for both HDR and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.
The Razer Phone is the sixth device to join this team along with the LG V30, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Sony Xperia XZ1 and LG G6 (Dolby Vision).
In addition, the software update also includes the January security package provided by Google on its official website. The details of the update were published by Razer himself on his official Twitter profile. Interestingly, the tweet has been deleted now.
To remember that the HDR – high dynamic range is a dynamic range higher than what is considered to be standard dynamic range. It is the compositing and tone-mapping of images to extend the dynamic range beyond the native capability of the capturing device.
Dolby Digital 5.1 – surround sound in high-quality Atmos. The technology takes advantage of the smartphone’s great speakers for more real-world immersion in movies and tv series.
If you own a Razer Phone, just wait for the notification or manually search for the change in Settings > About Phone > Software Update and search.
