New Razer Hammerhead Earbuds 2021 with RGB lighting and ANC

If there is no RGB lighting, it is not a Razer accessory. Razer has introduced a new version of its best gaming earbuds with Razer Chroma RGB lighting – for gaming enthusiasts who don’t want to go without RGB on the go. But there are also exciting technical innovations, including ANC.

Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Gaming Earbuds

The first generation Razer Hammerhead true wireless (about 70 euros on Amazon), which came on the market in 2019, left a lot to be desired in terms of functionality. With the second generation, Razer is improving and not only delivering a new design, but also RGB lighting in the logo on the outside of the two earphones.

The behavior of the RGB lighting can be controlled via the associated “Razer Audio” app for iOS and Android, which can also be used to adjust the touch gestures to control playback. In terms of technology, there is above all an upgrade, namely active noise suppression (ANC), whereby the microphones responsible for this can also block out disturbing ambient noises during phone calls.

The latency in gaming mode is specified by Razer as 60 ms, but they didn’t do much more to distinguish themselves from much cheaper alternatives from lesser-known manufacturers. Just like the previous model, the new Razer Hammerhead true wireless is IPX4 certified and thus protected against light rain and sweat. The connection to the smartphone is via Bluetooth 5.2, the TWS also supports the AAC and SBC codecs, and all these features put it in the best gaming earbuds category.

The second generation of the Razer Hammerhead true wireless adds a bunch of extras that Razer fans are sure to appreciate. In particular, the Razer emblems on each earbud are now compatible with Chroma software, allowing you to choose from 16.8 million different colors. Users can customize colors and effects to match their other Razer accessories.

The Razer earbuds last four hours with lighting and ANC, 6.5 hours are possible without the two features, the charging case stores enough energy for four full charging processes. The case is charged via USB-C, wireless charging is not supported.

Price and availability

The Razer Hammerhead True Wireless (2021) is now available from the Amazon.com website at a price of $129.99.

Recently, Razer has introduced the Barracuda X wireless gamer headphones that should cut a fine figure at home and on the go, when gaming and listening to music, with the PC, or even with the Nintendo Switch – the best headset for gaming as well as for all situations.
