Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ With 8-core chip, 1.4GHz speed, More Compact Launched

The Raspberry Pi Foundation launched the flagship Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ processor board earlier this year and received a warm welcome. Now that Model B+ sales have been in orbit, the Raspberry Pi Foundation continues to introduce a new version of this board: Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+.

Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+

The Model A+ will retain most of the improvements on the Model B+ but will have a lower price tag of $25 and a reduced size of 65x56mm. The A+ will run on an ARM Cortex-A53 8-core 64-bit processor with 1.4GHz processor speed, 512MB LPDDR2 SDRAM, WiFi Dual-band 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 / BLE support, along with USB and system circuitry. Heat dissipation is improved. Similar to Model B+, the Model A+ circuit board is also certified as an FCC compliant radio module.

New model with low cost, the Raspberry Pi Foundation will certainly be able to provide more information technology equipment to schools and developing countries, thereby broadening the knowledge base further. Model A+ will be a “marvelous finish” for Raspberry Pi 3 so the Raspberry Pi Foundation can focus more on the next technological innovations.
