With the new PRO Racing Wheel, Logitech is entering the market for the high-quality gaming steering wheel and pedals for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The race steering wheel base offers Direct Drive and magnetic paddle shifters, and the optional pedals use a load cell brake.
Logitech introduced the new PRO Racing Wheel and the matching PRO Racing Pedals. While the gaming steering wheels such as the G923 have so far only been represented in the entry-level market of gaming steering wheels, the new PRO Racing Wheel for $1000 is aimed much more at high-end customers and therefore is entering the direct market competition the products of the Fanatec company.
In terms of technical features, the new PRO Racing Wheel offers features that you would want at this price, including a powerful 11 Nm direct drive (i.e. no belt drive), magnetic shift pedals, and an OLED display directly on the wheelbase. In addition, the wheelbase supports Logitech’s TRUEFORCE technology for improved force feedback effects.
The PRO Racing Wheel is offered in two versions, compatible with either PlayStation or Xbox, with both models also working on PC. In addition to the Wheelbase itself, the scope of delivery also includes a race steering wheel rim magnetic shift paddles, the power supply unit, a USB cable, and a table clamp. The Wheel Base also offers threads on the underside for attachment to racing cockpits. Previous Logitech pedals are not compatible with the Wheel Base, as this only offers USB connections.
The Logitech PRO Racing Pedals offer three pedals whose positions can be shifted horizontally. Like Fanatec’s direct competitor, the ClubSport Pedals V3, the new pedals from Logitech offer a load-cell brake. Instead of pure pedal travel, the Load Cell registers the force used to brake, which enables a significantly better brake feel. The scope of delivery also includes elastomers for the load cell to adjust the resistance. The resistance of the gas and clutch pedals can also be changed.
In cooperation with Playseats, there will soon be a corresponding racing seat to go with the new race steering wheel. Based on the first information, the new Playseats Trophy only seems to differ in color from the previous Playseats Trophy seats.
Logitech PRO Racing Wheel price and availability
The new gaming steering wheel and pedals for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox can be purchased on the official Logitech website. The Wheel Base including the steering wheel costs $999.99. The PRO Racing Pedals work with both versions and are also available for $349.99 on the Logitech website.
