MSI Modern MD272QP Business display with WQHD and KVM switch

A solid 27 inch quad HD monitor for business and office purposes appeared last year with the MSI Modern MD271 (approx. $220 on Amazon). A successor model for 2022 is now evident: The MSI MD272QP Business monitor also has an IPS panel with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), a maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz, and a contrast of 1000:1.

The new KVM monitor has a brightness of 300 cd/m², a response time of 4 ms (grey to gray), and a color depth of 8 bits. It has 100 percent of the sRGB color space.

Unlike the predecessor, the new MSI USB C monitor comes with a classic USB hub (version 2.0) and offers KVM switch functionality – for which the so-called MSI Productivity Intelligence app may be required. At least there are instructions on the official product page that can be interpreted in this way.

On the interface side, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4b, a headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 65-watt power supply are also available. Other features of the 75Hz monitor include Tilt, rotation, height adjustment, pivot, VESA mount (75 x 75 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-free. The MSI Modern MP272QP consumes 26 watts in operation and weighs 3.95 kg without the stand.
