QNAP Systems, a leading innovator in computing, networking, and storage, has unveiled the QXG-2G1T-I225 PCIe card. It is a 2.0 x1 interface card that can be installed on QNAP NAS or Windows or Linux computer.
Based on the Intel Ethernet Controller I225-LM, the card provides 2.5GBASE-T single-port connectivity, supporting 2.5Gbps, 1Gbps, 100Mbps, and 10Mbps speeds. For maximum speed, CAT 5e cables are sufficient, which allows the QXG-2G1T-I225 to increase speed while maintaining continued infrastructure.
The manufacturer notes that the QXG-2G1T-I225 also supports Windows Server 2019 and provides efficient server management with Intel Teaming (Link Aggregation), PXE, Intel AMT, Wake on LAN, and VLAN support.
The QNAP QXG-2G1T-I225 PCIe card price is $39 and it can be purchased through the Bhphotovideo.com and Amazon.com websites. QNAP promises to release another 2.5GbE NICs in the near future, including the QXG-2G2T-I225 (PCIe Gen 2.0 x2) dual-port card and the QXG-2G4T-I225 (PCIe Gen 2.0 x4) quad-port card.
Recently, Amazon has also made available the QNAP TS-431X3 Network Attached Storage (NAS) storage is powered by the AnnapurnaLabs Alpine AL-314 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.7 GHz, and 10-gigabit ethernet support, so is suitable for small businesses.
