With the UHD55, Optoma has introduced a new 4K UHD projector home theater that projects a bright image of up to 3,600 lumens and is up to 300 inches in size, and offers voice control and a game mode with up to 240 Hz.
The Optoma UHD55 4K projector for home comes with a brightness of up to 3,600 lumens. It has a contrast ratio of 1,200,000:1 that enables a solid image even when the light is on, according to the manufacturer. In addition, the UHD55 supports the high-contrast standards HDR and HLG. A 97 percent DCI-P3 wide color gamut coverage also promises true-to-life colors.
The maximum possible screen diagonal of the Optoma UHD55 is specified as a good 300 inches with a projection distance of around 8 m. A 1.3x optical zoom, horizontal and vertical keystone correction, vertical lens shift and 3×3 warping, four-corner correction, and keystone correction simplify image alignment. In Enhanced Gaming Mode, the gaming projector delivers a low input delay of 16 ms in 4K at 60Hz and 4 ms in 1080p at 240Hz, making it suitable for gaming on one of the current consoles.
There are also smart home features such as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, compatibility with IFTTT, and an integrated media player. Two HDMI 2.0 inputs and one VGA (YPbPr/RGB) are available as inputs. Lamp life is specified as up to 15,000 hours of operation in Dynamic Black mode.
