PreSonus brings an update of the CDL12 two way loudspeakers and adds a P (for “portable”) to the name. PreSonus CDL12P loud speaker is based on the manufacturer’s patent which combines point source and line array technology and is aimed at touring bands, mobile DJs, or installations in small to medium-sized locations.
Just like the CDL12, this loud speaker is based on years of development by the manufacturer. Point source and line array technology are combined again here. This ensures a focused directivity and a consistent sound pressure level – both on-axis and off-axis. According to PreSonus, the CDL12P delivers natural music reproduction and speech intelligibility that is as clear as it is. This makes the loudspeaker suitable for various applications.
The CDL12P achieves centered sound radiation thanks to its special design. Eight 2-inch drivers arranged in a segmented tweeter array are in here, with a 12-inch woofer in the center. The crossover frequency is 420 Hz. The loudspeakers can be positioned in vertical arrays (with up to six CDL12P) or individually on a tripod, in addition to a subwoofer optionally.
A PDA-1000 500 W x 500 W C lass-D amplifier is responsible for the sound. With integrated DSP presets, you can quickly set the right configurations for the respective application. Features such as a high-pass filter, limiter, and a clipping display help you set up.
