Last April, Acer unveiled the best curved 49″ monitor, the Predator X49 X. Now the ultra-wide QD-OLED FreeSync Premium Pro monitor is available in the UK, albeit in limited quantities, which is why we want to take a closer look at the key data below.
The 49-inch curved gaming monitor offers an ultra-wide resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels, enhancing immersion. However, the wide display may require increased head movement. To mitigate this, the panel features a 1,800-millimeter curvature, reducing the strain of frequent head shifts.
An OLED panel is used, which promises a strong display of high-contrast content. The maximum brightness in HDR mode is specified as 1,000 cd/m², while Acer specifies the typical brightness as 250 cd/m². The HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certificates are intended to demonstrate the ability to strongly reproduce light and dark parts of the image simultaneously.
The manufacturer specifies the gray-to-gray response time as 0.03 milliseconds. This is a typical value for corresponding OLED screens and should be sufficient even for the most demanding gamers of fast multiplayer titles. The refresh rate is specified as 240 Hz – only a few specialized monitors have higher values. Synchronization of the image output with the image display is possible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
In terms of connections, there is HDMI 2.1, two DisplayPorts 1.4, a USB 3.2 hub, a headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 90-watt PD. The latter interface only supports DQHD at up to 120 instead of 240 Hz.

The ergonomic functions include tilt, rotation, height adjustment, and VESA mount (100 x 100 mm). The Acer Predator X49 X has a power consumption of 44 watts (SDR) or 50 watts (HDR), weighs 7.6 kg without the stand, and comes with a two-year warranty.
