At the beginning of the year, the CES trade fair unveiled several new products, including Acer’s latest 240Hz 1440p gaming monitors. Among other things, the Taiwanese company presented the OLED-based gaming screen Predator X39 2024, which has now just reached online retailers. Despite having more information, it’s still unclear whether WOLED or QD-OLED will be selected. However, based on the current data, WOLED seems more probable.
The 39-inch Acer gaming monitor 240Hz model has a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels (UWQHD, 21:9), 240Hz refresh rate, and is curved at 800 R. In addition to 0.01 ms (pixel response time ) and 0.03 ms (gray to gray), 99 percent DCI-P3, 10-bit color depth, and a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1 are promised. The brightness values are 275 cd/m² (SDR, typ.), 450 cd/m² (SDR, max.), and 1300 cd/m² ( HDR, 1.5 percent APL).
The feature set includes two internal 5-watt speakers, FreeSync Premium Pro, DisplayHDR True Black 400, and a KVM switch. Additionally, on the connection side, you’ll find two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.2 hub, a headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 90-watt PD. Furthermore, UWQHD at up to 240 Hz should be achievable across all graphic signal inputs.

Ergonomic functions include tilt, rotation, height adjustment, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), and blue light filtering. The EU energy label reveals an anomaly: it indicates 38 watts of consumption in SDR mode but only 34 watts in HDR mode. This likely relates to aggressive energy-saving settings in HDR mode.
