Dell released its first portable monitor for laptop, the C1422H, which at first glance impresses with its narrow display bezels and quite high brightness. However, the portable screen monitor is not the cheapest model on the market either.
After more and more large notebook vendors have recently introduced their own portable monitors, Dell, one of the oldest manufacturers, has also followed suit. They presented a new Dell C1422H external monitor for laptop.
In return, customers receive a 14-inch Dell portable monitor that has a full HD resolution and should be up to 300 cd/m2 bright. It means that the panel is a bit brighter than many other external display models, which often only achieve 250 cd/m2 or less. The C1422H is connected via USB Type C, whereby the DisplayPort 1.2 standard is also supported for image transmission.
The power supply is also provided here via the USB Type C cable. Alternatively, you can plug in a second cable for the power supply, which means that the monitor can also charge your own notebook with up to 65 watts. For this you have to use a charger with a power of 90 watts, otherwise less power is passed on.
Price and availability
Although the Dell C1422H portable monitor for laptop is priced at £289, and can be purchased via the Amazon.co.uk website. It is relatively expensive at first glance and hardly offers any unique selling points, the three-year guarantee, and the established brand name could make the device interesting for many customers.
