Sony introduced the NW-A306 portable Hi Fi player. Featuring a small screen, the Walkman NW-A306 will be the cheaper alternative to the Sony NW-ZX707 Android based portable music player, which the company also announced recently.

Sony introduced the NW-A306 portable digital mp3 player, a cheaper alternative to the NW-ZX707. It is also smaller than the NW-ZX707 and is considerably lighter. For reference, the Sony NW-ZX707 (approx. $900 on Amazon) measures 72.5 x 132.3 x 16.9mm and weighs 227g. By comparison, the NW-A306 measures around 56.5 x 98 x 11.8mm and weighs 113g. In other words, the NW-A306 should be the more portable of the two, especially if you’re carrying a smartphone with you.
The NW-A306 also retains its predecessor’s 3.6-inch screen, which is 1.4 inches smaller than the screen of the NW-ZX707. Both screens run at 1,280 x 720 pixels, which means the cheaper NW-A306 offers a sharper display than its more expensive sibling. Even better, the NW-A306 offers better battery life, with up to 32 hours of playback when listening to 96kHz FLAC recordings.
Additionally, the NW-A306 should last up to 36 hours when playing 44.1KHz FLAC, up to 32 hours of 96kHz FLAC High-Resolution Audio playback, or even up to 26 hours with a music service app. It features a USB Type-C port for quick charging and easy connectivity with a range of devices.
Sony NW-A306 price and availability
The Sony NW-A306 portable Hi Fi player is available on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, starting at $349.99 / £349 with 32GB of storage. Sony will also offer a 64GB version soon only in Europe and the UK.

Astell & Kern recently introduced the Acro CA1000T home audio system headphone amplifier that is both unusual and innovative. The device features a fold-out touchscreen, an integrated battery, and support for Bluetooth aptX HD and LDAC and is priced at $2,299.
