Polk Audio MagniFi 2 is a new soundbar for TV with multimedia features. The Polk Audio sound bar comes with a design similar to that of other TV soundbar models in the Polk Audio range, such as the Signa S2. The body of the MagniFi 2 measures 109.2 (W) x 96 (D) x 53 (H) mm and houses six-driver inside.
We find two 19mm tweeters and four 25 x 76mm midrange. The low frequencies are entrusted to an external wireless Polk Audio subwoofer which measures 308 (W) x 371 (D) x 370 (H) mm and is equipped with a 203 mm driver. Supported formats are Dolby Digital and DTS.
The manufacturer claims a total power of 200 W. The virtual surround effect is recreated using proprietary Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technology, credited with the ability to expand the sound front in all directions. The 3D Audio Mode takes advantage of the SDA function and adds virtual channels that expand the sound vertically, in order to recreate a “3D” experience conceptually similar to Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, which however are based on effects (or better say objects) and speakers that are really present and not virtual.
The Polk soundbar offers some preset listening modes for specific scenarios: we talk about music, movies, sports, and a night mode that weakens the bass and makes the dialogues more intelligible so that you can use MagniFi 2 even at a lower volume. However, the voice level can be adjusted in any mode via Voice Adjust Technology.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth, 1 optical input, 3 HDMI 2.0 inputs, and one output with HDCP 2.2, ARC, and compatibility with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. There is also support for Chromecast features, useful for streaming music from services such as Amazon Music HD, Apple Music, Roon, Qobuz, Spotify, and Tidal.
The Polk sound bar is also certified ” Works with Google Assistant ” and therefore can be paired with Google Assistant to enable voice control.

Back in July, Samsung Electronics has also introduced the two new Samsung Soundbars 2020 Q-series models: HW-Q900T, and HW-Q950T. These are Premium Wireless Soundbars support Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and eARC surround sound technologies.
