Plextor EX1 is new new generation external SSD (solid-state drives) which is very light in weight, slim and comes in Silver and Gold color anodized aluminum case. New Plextor Portable SSD comes in three storage capacities including 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB variants are will be available end of this year, while its pricing are still unknown. 
Next generation USB Type C SSD portable drives are faster than regular hard disks and also a little bit safer to lug around since they don’t have any moving parts. Plextor is touting EX1 speeds are faster than a regular hard drive, it offers 550MBps read and 500MBps write speeds with USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C can provide transfer speeds 10 times faster than USB 2.0.
Featuring a AES-256 encryption for security, the Plextor EX1 SSD is powered by Toshiba 15 nm Toggle TLC NAND technology which is not most advanced technology, but in return its equipped with a new controller allows increased reliability and operational efficiency together with 5 year warranty.
