Google Launches New Pixel Tablet with Smart Display Capabilities Powered by Tensor G2 and Titan M2

Google has unveiled the Pixel Tablet 2023, an Android tablet that can be used as a smart display and control center for the smart home, thanks to a docking station equipped with a speaker.

The new Pixel Tablet offers versatility as it can be attached magnetically and with pogo pins to a docking station, which also enhances audio playback. This feature enables users to use the tablet as a larger version of Google Home, which can be remotely activated using voice input. The tablet boasts four loudspeakers and three microphones built into it.

The Google Pixel Tablet has a 10.95-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, with a typical brightness of 500 cd/m². The tablet is operable using a USI 2.0 input pen, and it measures 258 x 169 millimeters, is only 8.1 millimeters thick, and weighs 493 grams. The 27 Wh battery should provide up to 12 hours of video streaming.

The tablet uses a Google Tensor G2 processor, which was developed in collaboration with Samsung, and is equipped with a Titan M2 co-processor for enhanced security. It has 8 gigabytes of RAM and either 128 or 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.1 memory.

The front and rear cameras both have a resolution of eight megapixels, and there is a fingerprint sensor on the power button. The tablet supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and while it lacks a GNSS module or a mobile connection, it promises at least five years of security updates. The tablet runs on the Android operating system.

Pixel Tablet 2023 price & release date

The Pixel Tablet 2023 is available in Hazel, Porcelain, and Rose colors and is priced starting at $499 for the 128GB model, while the 256GB model costs $599. In the UK, the model is listed on Amazon.co.uk for £599 with a charging speaker dock.
