Philips has announced the OLED803 series – to complete its 2018 TV range – consisting of a 55″ and 65″ TVs, which release is expected in the second quarter of the year.
The name itself indicates the technology used: the panels are OLED Ultra HD produced by LG. The external appearance is absolutely slim: the frame uses a brushed metallic finish with a very reduced thickness. Even the stand has been designed to have a minimal impact on the environment, thanks to the two horizontal metal feet arranged at right angles to the screen.
The specifications are very similar to those of the other Philips OLEDs. We find support for HDR10, HLG, and HDR10+. TV interactive is supported via the HbbTV standard. The brightness reaches 900 cd/m2 – nits with a 99% DCI-P3 color space coverage. The “smart” platform is Android TV based on Nougat OS that’s managed by a quad-core processor and 16GB of internal memory. The Philips OLED803 series price has not been announced.
