The MMD brand Philips has introduced a new 3440×1440 OLED gaming monitor featuring Samsung’s QD-OLED technology. Notably, the Philips 34M2C6500 boasts a 34-inch UWQHD display with an 1800R curvature and a 21:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, it offers a maximum refresh rate of 175 Hz and is ClearMR-9000 certified, making it a strong contender in the gaming monitor market.
The specifications also state 10-bit color depth, 0.03 ms response time (gray to gray), a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and brightness values of 250 cd/m² (SDR, 100 percent APL), 450 cd/m² ( HDR, 10 percent APL) and 1000 cd/m² (HDR, 3 percent APL). The Evnia 34M2C6500 promises color space coverage of 148.8% sRGB, 99.3% DCI-P3, and 97.8% Adobe RGB.
The new 3440×1440 OLED monitor not only supports DisplayHDR True Black 400, but also features Adaptive Sync to prevent screen tearing. Additionally, it includes three-sided Ambiglow for dynamic lighting effects. It also features a smart crosshair overlay, black stabilizer, and picture-in-picture or picture-by-picture modes, accessible through the OSD. Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.2 hub (5 Gbit/s), and a headphone jack.

It’s surprising that HDMI 2.1 isn’t used, limiting the HDMI port to 100 Hz in UWQHD. To achieve the full 175 Hz refresh rate, you must use the DisplayPort. For ergonomics, MMD provides tilt, rotation, height adjustment, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), and blue light filtering, though some compromises are evident.
Price and release date
The Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 weighs 6.15 kg without the stand. Moreover, it is available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $699.99, with a release date of September 22, 2024. It’s also in stock on Amazon.co.uk for £699.99.
Philips also launched the Evnia 27M2N3500NL, a new 27-inch 2K gaming monitor with a Fast-VA panel, WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), a 180 Hz refresh rate, HDR10 and a contrast ratio of 5000:1. It is available on AmazonUK for £179.99.
