Philips Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 with 4K, 144Hz, and dual HDMI 2.1 Ports

Philips has announced the best 4K gaming monitor 2022 Momentum 5000 27M1F5800, a more expensive alternative to the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P (approx. £590 on Amazon). The Philips 27M1F5800 4K gaming monitor 144hz features a 27-inch panel, while its two HDMI 2.1 ports allow it to be used with current generation game consoles, such as the PlayStation 5.

Philips has unveiled the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800, a more premium alternative to the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P. While the latter has a 2.5K panel, the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 relies on a 4K panel which also measures 27 inches in diameter. However, the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P has the edge when it comes to refresh rates, with the Philips 27M1F5800 capping out at 144Hz regardless of display output used.

Nevertheless, Philips equips the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 with more modern HDMI 2.1 ports, to which are added two DisplayPort 1.4 connections. Additionally, the Philips 27M1F5800 matches its sibling in terms of I/O, with four USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB Type-B port, and a 3.5mm audio output. Philips advertises the 27M1F5800 as a DisplayHDR 600 certified display, which means it offers a brightness of 600 cd/m². For some reason, the company rates the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 at 450 cd/m², with 1ms GtG response times and at least 98% DCI-P3 color space coverage.

Price and availability

Philips will sell the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 on for £629.99, making it £100 more expensive than the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P.
